3D-DATA OF DUMP SHAPES IN OPEN-PIT MINES
Our system detects and evaluates stockpile and dump sites with the help of laser scanners. The measuring system is low-maintenance and designed for continuous operation in dynamic processes under the harsh environmental conditions of open-pit mining machines such as spreaders or excavators. It is robust against environmental influences such as rain, fog, dust, temperature variations, vibrations etc..
By combining laser scanners with GPS/GNSS data and other sensors, high-precision 3D terrain data or “digital terrain models in Gauß-Krüger coordinates” are generated during stockpile acquisition. A visualisation of the stockpile profiles with various target/actual value comparisons, the coupling to a higher-level control system as well as the database-based process value processing have already been realised several times for different customers. Through the use of numerous sensor information and extensive diagnostic functions, accurate measurement data and process values are provided reliably and in real time.
This measuring system enables a permanent inventory of stockpile and dump areas, the demand-oriented control of production and the optimisation of process control and time management.
